This section begins at the ancient Benedictine monastery in Hronský Beňadik and goes through the forests of the Inovec mountains to Topoľčianky. Leaving Topoľčianky through undulating fields it then enters the forests of the Tríbeč mountains that will take you to Kostoľany pod Tríbečom and its 10th century church. Continue amid beautiful forest paths through the ruins of Gýmeš castle and mount Zobor overlooking Nitra, the centre of the 9th century Great Moravian Empire.
Nitra is worth sparing another whole day to recharge your batteries and explore its castle, old town and Via Crucis. The hitherto mountain landscape now changes into tranquil fields and meadows along bike paths through Veľké Zálužie and Sereď before arriving in Trnava, the Rome of Slovakia.
We are a civic association whose goal is to renew and promote the Way of Saint James in Slovakia. Our members work daily to restore this ancient route for modern pilgrims seeking spiritual renewal as well as wanting to get to know themselves better and discover the natural and cultural treasures of our country
